I love my ordinary. I dread disruption to my routines. Different is bad. Similar is good. Before I retired I worked for an airline, and I've been all over the world. Well, I've stayed in hotels all over the world. Now all I want is to stay home with my solitude, my cats, and my peace. My gun is with me in every room, always within reach, because these days I can imagine a lot of ways for my peace to end. Ending it won't come free for whoever does it. In the meantime, I go to bed each night hoping the next day will be exactly as ordinary as the one that came before.

Yes ordinary is pretty good! Things could be a lot worse. There is a kind of comfort in routine.
